21 Weeks Update

Our sweet little baby has hit some major milestones recently! We are so excited for Baby's arrival in March!

Baby Updates:

  • I was trying to fall asleep, and I felt the Baby kick for the first time last week! It was so cool! Then I started talking to Baby and he/she would kick in response. Of course, as soon as Ryan came in the room, I made him put his hand on my belly, but sweet, little Baby wouldn't kick. Talk about stubborn! ;) Since that day, Baby has been kicking a ton! (Thankfully, Baby mellows out from bedtime-wake up time)

How far in: 21 weeks!

Baby is the size of a/an: Carrot!

Feeling: So excited!!!

Total weight gain: Still not a lot. I hide it pretty well.

Wearing: Loose fitting clothes! I've felt pretty round as of late.

Sleep: Loving it!

Missing: Normal pants.

Next doctor's appointment: In a few weeks!

Movement: Yes! Baby has been kicking up a storm!

Possible future jobs for baby: I think Baby will be an MMA fighter, kickboxing instructor, or professional soccer player! Ryan is convinced that Baby will be a basketball player because he/she has strong legs which equals being a good jumper!

Food cravings: Sugar!

Looking forward to: Nesting, meeting Baby in March!!!

19 Weeks Update!

I'm trying to get used to the idea of being a mom. It's kind of a hard thing for me to wrap my mind around, as I don't physically have a child that I can hold and feed and change, etc. I'm trying to do research and plan ahead, but at the same time, I feel like nothing can really prepare me for this. And I'm fine with that. I know that once Baby is here, that we'll figure it out. It makes me feel better that I have Ryan to help me figure things out. He's going to be a great dad! I think that will be the most exciting thing of all- watching him love this sweet, little baby!
Update:
How far in: 19 weeks! My, how time flies!
Baby is the size of a/an: Mango! (I love mangoes)
Feeling: Excited! I realized today (while scheduling some appointments for April next year) that our baby will be a month old by then!!! Talk about awesome!
Total weight gain: A few pounds. I have felt pretty round as of the last few days. :)
Wearing: Leggings all the time. I hate pants with zippers now!
Sleep: Getting enough. :)
Not Missing: My period. ;)
Next doctor's appointment: In a few weeks. :)
Movement: None yet.
Food cravings: Frosted Flakes!
Labor signs: None.
Looking forward to: Holding our baby! Watching Call the Midwife 24/7 is making me want him/her to get here faster!

Have faith and endure.

Today in Sunday School we talked about "enduring to the end". I can't tell you how many times I've heard this throughout my life, but for the first time, it clicked. It was another answer to the constant prayer that I have had in my heart over the past six months. I had spent much time agonizing about things that were done and said towards me that were unfair. I spent so much time worrying and assuming and being just plain uncomfortable. I spent countless hours talking with Ryan about what I should do...and then I proceeded to not follow his sound advice because I was scared of what the outcome might be. I felt broken and near defeated. And then I decided to pray. And I watched General Conference with a prayer in my heart. And I received the answer I so desperately needed: "exercise your faith!" With every conference talk, I felt a reassurance that it would be ok, and that I would be ok. That I would find a way to get myself out of this situation and on to bigger and better things. After I received this witness, I found myself not just listening to Ryan's counsel, but heeding it! And what a difference that made! I felt that I was in control of my life again! And what was even more amazing: I had an experience that was not only a direct answer to my prayers, but it was so tailored to me that I couldn't doubt for a second that it was a miracle! It was my miracle. All because a dear friend wanted to help me out, she (though she might not have realized it) received a prompting of what I should do. As soon as I carried out her counsel, I had that miraculous experience!

Every single thing since then has fallen into place. Every. Single. Thing. If only I had exercised my faith sooner! This experience has taught me the importance of having faith and the patience and perseverance to endure. Wow! Talk about a testimony builder!

Oh man, you guys. I know that if we center our lives on what truly matters, and repent and pray often, that when we read and ponder on the scriptures, that we will receive answers to our prayers. That we will receive exactly what we need. It won't be in our perceived ideal time frame, but the Lord's timing is all that matters. We need to trust and have faith in Him and all things will fall into place. When we trust in Him, our eyes are opened to the many blessings that we have, and I promise, there will be many blessings that will come if we live righteously. Have faith and endure to the end.

18 Week Update

Guess what? It's time for another update!

How far in: 18 weeks.
Baby is the size of a/an: Bell pepper.
Feeling: Tired. Something about this past week has left me wiped out.

Total weight gain: Still not much.
Wearing: Leggings 24/7. They are so comfy and make life so much more enjoyable!
Sleep: I love sleep. I'm trying to stockpile it before Baby gets here.
Missing: ???
Not Missing: My period. ;)

Next doctor's appointment: Next week. Excited to hear more about Baby!
Movement: None yet.
Food cravings: Sugar in general. Canned fruit has been my go-to.
Labor signs: None.
Looking forward to: Nesting and and holding my Baby! ...and seeing Ryan melt as he gets to know Baby. ;)
Recap:

The General Women's Meeting was awesome.

 I went to the Temple.

Bubsie and I had a movie date, courtesy of family that gave us movie passes. :)

We got all the junk to eat. We saw The Maze Runner movie: Scorch Trials. It was so jumpy and I was stressing out! It was really good though. I was especially impressed that there was no nudity, no real gore/intense violence, and minimal innapropriate language! FTW!

Mother, Little Miss and I went to the Loomis Eggplant Festival, which amazingly had no eggplants anywhere. (Minus two food trucks that had fried eggplant)

There was some fun stuff to look at. Like these pretty bird feeders and hummingbird feeders! This gal made them using things she found at thrift stores! I mean, how cute is that teapot one?!

General Conference was soooo good! We ate all manner of goodies at my parents' house. This lovely concoction was a Pumpkin Frap. (coffee-free)

We went to Fight Night at Buffalo Wild Wings. It had been too long since the last time we went! It was pretty blah except for the title fight. Alexander Gustafsson got the crap beat out of him in the first two rounds and kept fighting until the end! Even though he lost, it was a win in my book!

The female MMA fighters always amaze me. They're so tough and they end up in these weird holds where they just look like a tangle of limbs and I'm always left trying to figure out what belongs to who!

Back to General Conference. These two brothers made my heart soar with this sweet gesture. Read about them here.

 I love it!

All the yums!

 We made caramel apples!

I still can't get over how cute they look all bagged up with their little bows!

This...
My super sweet friend and I had a lovely exchange...and then she sent me this after I told her about a struggle that I've been going through. What a sweetie. She gets me on a level that not many others do. Hearts!

Memes That I Love:

Thankful Thursday: our Baby, technology, sweet friends that share so much love with me, my sweet Ryan, blessings in disguise, pink sunsets, soft pillows and warm blankets, hot water, my Heavenly Father that is always listening, even when I feel like what I have to say isn't worth listening to, saving Temple ordinances.

Hearts to you all! I hope you have felt as uplifted by General Conference as I have!
