Happy birthday to my Bubs.

I don't know if you knew this, but Friday was a holiday too: it was my Bubs' birthday. And to celebrate this, I'm going to write a bunch of mushy stuff about my Favorite. He holds my hands and my heart. He always makes time to pop in and say hi, even when he has a game starting in like 30 seconds. He watches the Youtube videos I show him, even though we have pretty different senses of humor and I always laugh really hard. He cuddles with me. He sings songs that I love loudly. He humors me and works real hard. He loves to tease me for no reason at all and he laughs louder than anyone I know. I know and love his laugh. I know and love him too.

I hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend! I was extra lucky and had a 4-day weekend! Its was so awesome!

Recap:

Big Boy went on a road trip to Washington with a bunch of his friends to participate in an airsofting retreat.

He said its a pretty big deal. Based on everyone's outfits and gear, I believe him.

 I love this guy.

Look at these cute kiddos! They look like they're in the military! We joked that Big Boy's been training for this his whole life...which may partially be true...

Friday was my sweet Ryan's birthday!

I went shopping with my friend, Brittany, and her two littles.

...then we got our makeup done for free!

 My girl, Nina, was awesome!

We had so much fun! (Note our new "best friend" necklaces!)

I got all fancy just because...Ryan and I went to dinner at our fave Mexican place, La Fiesta!

I had Ryan open his card and present as soon as he got home. He insisted on doing it while laying down, hence these weird angles... :)

He loves to tease me by hiding when I'm trying to take his picture.

Shirt #1: "I'm on a boat" (I picked this because 1. we stayed on the Delta King for our anniversary and 2. its a song)

Note the pure joy on his face. I'm super proud of myself that I picked a clothing item that he liked. (he's pretty picky about what he wears) Shirt #2: "Trololo" (Youtube it.)

He liked this one too. I know I did a good job because he debated about which one to wear. ;) Shirt #3: " 'Cuz I'm all about that base, no rebels". (Star Wars-ish reference. Youtube it)

 I found these...so good!

I got to sport my fave apron (a Christmas gift from my Bubs) while I made enchiladas, Spanish rice and Chocolate Silk Supreme Cake (Ryan's fave) for Ryan's LAN/birthday party.

Ryan has the best friends in the whole world! Three of them drove in from BYU-I, and 1 came from Bakersfield just for his party!

I hosted it at my parents' house. They set up camp in the back house. They could yell as loud as they want and we could hardly hear them from the main house- winning! (Possible site of future LANs???)

Random: this can opener is my nemesis. I swear to you.

I had to call in Little Miss to make it work. Ha.

Of the two pans of enchiladas, there was only a tiny bit left! I'm so glad I made lots!

I had him light the candles on his own cake. That's allowed, right?

 Happy birthday, Love!

He and his friends were too much! They kept me (and each other) very entertained.

we had birthday dinner with the Willis'. It was super fun.

While there, I got this text from Little Miss, who was having birthday cake with Grandma & Grandpa Morris. This is Grandpa practicing calling on his cell phone.

I love these peeps.

I went to breakfast with be best friend, Heidi, who was in town for the weekend. She's the best!
(I miss having tall friends :(  )

We had so much fun catching up.  Bonus: this place was too cute! It had little trains running around a track through all the rooms!

We hung out with Mother and Ryan got tasked with ripping out this broken shelf.
#NailedIt

...then Little Miss drove us over to grab lunch at Carl's Jr...

...and Ryan blew his straw wrapper at me and it hit me in the face. So Mother tried to hit him in the face, but it fell, so she picked it up and threw it at him instead. (Can you tell we're related?)

We all had a good laugh at that.

We tackled little projects around the house like putting up the new numbers on the front of the house and hanging Jeff's poster.

I had such a great weekend! Thanks to everyone that made it fun!

Quotes I love:

Random:

  • This week at work was ridiculous. Seriously. Tricia, Andy & I were so silly. We laughed so hard. Exhibits A-E:
            • Andy fell asleep and it took 15 minutes for us to wake him up. I thought he was dead.
            • This video that demonstrates how I feel at work.
            • I started saying "TRISHAAAAAAH!" like a screaming bird.
            • This video (which is crazy accurate)
            • Tricia and I started scaring each other. (See Exhibit C)

This foundation.

It blends beautifully plus it makes me look slightly more tan. Woo!

Mary Kay skincare!!!
Left: before starting, Middle: after 2 weeks, Right: after 4 weeks.

This stuff is amazing! Before I started this awesome routine, my skin was really oily and my foundation would slide all over, which drove me nuts. Now my skin is so much clearer and the oiliness is totally under control! Thanks for hooking me up, Tricia! (You guys: if you are looking for Mary Kay products, my girl Tricia rocks!)

Thankful Thursday: freedom, opportunities, steady income, the great peeps I work with, family, friends who love me no matter what, hot water, the power of prayer, technology that makes it super convenient to listen to General Conference talks during my commute, hugs, my sweet birthday boy Ryan.

Also: happy birthday to my cute sister, Lexi! (Love you!)

What are you thankful for?

XOXO,
