Our Anniversary Weekend.

All the fun started when I picked up Ryan from work. We had a few hours before check in time, so we caught a movie that I've been wanting to see!
We say "Home". Pretty much the only reason I wanted to see if because it stars Jim Parsons (he plays Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory).

Then we drove downtown and checked into our "hotel"- The Delta King!

It was so cute!

Our room was small, but we really liked it!

The bathroom was really cute with a tiny walk-in shower and a toilet with a pull-chain to flush! How cool is that?

He was slightly tippy-toed and his head touched the ceiling.

The first thing we did was watch tv! We watched Chopped, which is one of Ryan's faves.

We walked to dinner at South! The owner, Ian, took this picture of us. He was super duper nice.

Ian & his wife own South. He recommended the fried chicken, so we had to go for it!

They gave out playing cards instead of numbers. Talk about cute!

We ordered, and then ended up switching plates! Ryan ate the BBQ and I had the fried chicken.

Ryan was super prepared for the rain that greeted us on our walk back to the "hotel".

We had a super yummy breakfast...and I lost my purse...(Don't worry. I found it)

" *GASP* They have a train?!"
-Me

We went to Evangeline's/my favorite place in Old Sac and looked at. Every. Single. Thing.

"You should send a picture of this to Jeff because he loves bacon!"
-Ryan

In case you were wondering, Sock City has like 500,000 pairs of socks.

These kids were so cute. They loved this guy's lip synching marionettes.

We discovered this arcade with awesome games.

...but we didn't have any cash, so Ryan pretended to play.

I feel like Ryan would love Sassy Taffy, but his real favorite is caramel apple.

I may or may not have flipped a lip when I found this. My sweet Ryan even offered to buy this for me. What a sweetie.

Random:

Memories from The California Jam.

The pics are up on Facebook!

Candy.

Andy turned the office candy dish into a castle complete with a moat.

I need this reminder daily. (Ha)

 This quote too.
 I love this!

Preach.

THIS quote.
There's nothing quite like that feeling of peace that comes from following the Holy Ghost (or "trusting your gut" as the world says).

Thankful Thursday: pillows, friends, RYAN, the gospel and Atonement of Jesus Christ, this tightknit community that I belong to, technology, nature, the power of prayer.

Have a great pre-Friday, everyone! Loosen up and live a little! (Or a lot!)

My first ever Testimony Tuesday!

Having received our new callings thus past Sunday (Ward Missionaries), I need to get into the habit of sharing my testimony more. Which means, its time for a new segment!

Testimony Tuesday:

The gospel of Christ brings so much light and joy into my life. I love that this is the church of being happy and having hope. My favorite thing about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is that it is exactly that: the church of Christ. I know that Jesus Christ is my elder brother, but more than that, He is my savior. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ I know that all mankind can be saved. I know that if each and every one of us (myself included) lived our lives patterned after Christ's, the world would be 180* different. I know that by studying the life and teachings of our Savior, we can be more than happy- we can experience joy. I know that if you pray and ask for it, you will feel a fullness of His love for you. I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father that loves us too. He cares for us more than we can ever comprehend. I have prayed for and felt these overwhelming feeling many times and each time I am reminded that my nature is divine. One of my favorite things about this gospel is the stressed importance of the divine role of womanhood and motherhood. I am reminded of the Young Women's theme which I hold near and dear to my heart:

We are daughters of our Heavenly Father, who love us and we love Him.
We will stand as witnesses of God, in all times, and in all things, and in all places,
as we strive to live the young women values, which are:
Faith
Divine Nature
Individual Worth
Knowledge
Choice and Accountability
Good Works
Integrity
and Virtue
We believe as we come to accept and act upon these values we will be prepared to strengthen home and family, make and keep sacred covenants, receive the ordinances of the temple and enjoy the blessings of exaltation.

I know this gospel is true with every fiber of my being. I know it. I live it. I love it...and I encourage you all to post share your testimonies with others, whether in person or via social media. Your testimony has the power to move and strengthen others!
XOXO,
