We've moved.

 Weekly  Recap:

I ordered some new work shirts. The ones I had been using had sleeves that were way too short & were too wide for me (the joys of being long & thin). I can't wait for my new ones to arrive! I also ordered new work pants because my old ones were too big at the waist.

I went out for Icecream Donutrs with my friends, Rachael & Stacy! We had so much fun gabbing & eating!

I watched her make mine, She was like " Do you want sauce?" and I was like "You have sauce?!" So I now know that they have sauce: caramel, marshmallow & chocolate(?).

Behold! In all its fattening glory! I got half cookie dough/half cookies & cream icecream with the caramel sauce! It was fantastic. If  you live in Rancho, you have to go to Crazy For Yogurt & get one right now.

I had a whole bunch of unopened & partially used toiletry items, so I gave them to Rachael & Stacy to sort through. Rachael took a bunch of the toiletry stuff & Stacy took this mini straightener. (You guys, it is so cute! It's pink leopard print & came with a little carrying case! Now you get why I didn't want to just take it to Goodwill) Anyway, it was perfect because she said her daughter/one of my former Nursery kids, Sadie, always wants to have her hair straightened. (She has such beautiful long, strawberry blonde hair!) So the next day, I found this gem in my FB feed. Love!

We sold our table, chairs, bookshelf & entertainment center in preparation for our big move. I was sad to get rid of them, but glad they were going to a  good home instead of the trash bin!

My friend, Amy, gave me a ton of boxes, which were a big help! (Thanks, Amy!)

Pinterest gave me some great tips for moving. I used this tip. It made transporting clothes so much easier!

This tip saved me! I didn't have to scramble & tear apart each box trying to find our overnight stuff!

I used hand towels & throw pillows for this one! They worked great!

This gave me piece of mind that none of my items would spill/leak!

This saved our dishes! These Pinners think of everything!

I tried on my wedding dress & it fit! I was ecstatic! (It was the first dress I tried on & I knew right away that it was the one!Don't worry, I still tried on like 50 other dresses just to be sure. Anyway, it fit like a glove, so I ordered it in that exact size with 4" added length so I could wear heels. Well, when it was delievered to the store 1-2 months later & I took it home to try it on, it didn't fit! It was so small that I couldn't even zip it up! I freaked out! Anyways, my amazing aunt/professional seamstress swooped in & saved the day by taking it out. She said that wedding dresses always have a 1"-2" seam allowance so they can be taken out if need be. Moral of the story: when buying a wedding dress that you've only tried on the sample version of, order 1 size bigger! The sample dresses stretch out over time becasue they're constantly being tried on & taken off.) Even better, my dress not only fit, but was too big! Yay!

I wore my dress for like 40 minutes because it made me feel like a princess. Ha. I took these pics & surfed the web while I procrastinated packing.

I found these while surfing. They're potty training targets! Haha! Cute, right?

Saturday was the big move. I took this pic of our keys in our empty living room. I was so sad to leave!

Bubs was assembling our captain's bedframe...what do you think about our lime green walls? (Thanks for that, Jenn! Haha)

Saturday was a long day, but we did it! I'm so grateful to our families & Clinton for helping us! We couldn't have done it without you! Our everyday essentials are unpacked, so now it's a matter of unpacking the non-essentials. That's what I'll be doing this weekend! We went to our new ward on Sunday (our 2nd time there) & it seems pretty great! Although I really do miss my Nursery kiddos, it is nice to be able to go to sunday school & Relief Society! THe bishop is already working on getting us callings. I think I know what they are, but we'll see!

When we first decided to move, I was pretty concerned about staying with my current job & commuting. I know it's only week 1, but my commute wasn't really that bad (its about an hour & 10 minutes in the morning & 35 minutes in the evening) Bubs taught me all kinds of tricks to make my commute easier (I might share that in a later post if you're interested). It's actually been a blessing that my job is still out there because I am near my friends from our old ward!

Bubs & I made dinner together. It was really yummy!

Because I commute to work now, I get to see the sun rise almost every day! It's so beautiful!

Bubs is going to start playing basketball again with the ward! I'm so happy he's getting back into it! He got some sweet gear on sale. I was (& still am) very impressed with his matching. :)

I ordered girl scout cookies like a month ago from one of our patients! She was so cute & nervous when she asked me...I bought all of these! She gave them to me yesterday at work. It was a lovely surprise delivery!

Weekly Obsessions:
Heroes...still.
Still loving it! Drama & action!

Snacking.
Its a bad habit, I know...but it tastes SO good!

Waking up early.

Ha. It's growing on me. One of these days I'll get on a more consistant sleep schedule & it will get easier. Maybe I'll even start running again. We'll see. ;)

Off topic thought:

I am so lucky to have Ryan as my Bubs. He works so hard to make sure I'm taken care of. He has done so many sweet little things for me this week! On Monday, I was stressed & running behind, so while I was getting ready he snuck out & filled up my tank! Then, I woke up late on two different days & he made my breakfast/lunch for me! I'm pretty sure I'm the luckiest girl out there! He is such an amazing example of selflesness! More often than not he puts my needs before his own. He is the best! I am so grateful to have him forever!(I love you, Bubba!)

Thankful Thursday: tried & true friends, the Church being the same everywhere, prayer, the peace & strength that comes through prayer, free WiFi at Starbucks, home cooked meals, sunshine, being only 7 hours away from family, chocolate covered fruit, Bubs!!!

This week feels like it's kind of dragged, but on the upside, I managed to get the day off tomorrow. Yay! I hope your week is as awesome as mine! Happy Thursday!

Knock Offs

I originally thought that my Money-Saving Monday posts would be able to stick around for a while, but I'm running out of things to share! I guess that's what happens when I put multiple items in each post...

Money Saving Monday: 99 Cent Store Edition

Did you know the 99 Cent Store sells knock off poptarts? They have super silly names, but taste exactly the same as the name brand & for a fraction of the price! (an 8 count box of Pop Tarts retails for $1.98 at Walmart, but I got 6 for only a buck!) The only downside is that the 99 Cent Store closest to me didn't offer many flavors. I have yet to find some strawberry ones...but the cherry ones were pretty good!

They also sell knock off NutriGrain cereal bars! I got a 6 count box for $1, while an 8 count box of the name brand retails for $1.98 at Walmart! Yikes! The knock offs taste just as great & the price is right!

I  bought these Fruiti Rings, but they weren't very good! The upside was that the whole box only cost me like a dollar, so I didn't feel too bad about throwing them away. I feel like knock off foods can be real hit & miss, but I'd rather experiment with $1 items than store brands that cost more!

Overall, I highly recommend the 99 Cent Store! It's amazing what you can buy for $1! Did you know that you can even buy pregnancy tests there? ...& no, that's not a hint at anything ;)

I hope you all are having a good Monday!
Let's make this week amazing!

A new beginning.

Remember a while back when I said that I'm constantly re-inventing myself? Well, here I am again. In my last post, I started reading again. Over the past few months I've done a massive wardrobe overhaul. I'm trying to learn how to do my hair & make up in a way that makes me feel more confident. I'm working internally on a bunch of things too. It feels good to go through life with a "new & improved" version of myself.

I've been doing really good about changing the temporal & emotional things about myself that I feel need work. I feel like I need to spend more time to make some changes within my spiritual self.

Things I'm working on (spiritually):

  • Using Saturday to prepare for the Sabbath (like that primary song..."Saturday is a special day, it's the day we get ready for Sunday...")
  • Keeping the Sabbath day holy by not cleaning & doing laundry/chores
  • Temple attendance
  • Taking more time throughout my day to pray
  • Praying more sincerely
  • Offering more prayers of thanks
  • Directing my thoughts toward the Savior & the Atonement during the Sacrament (this is a really hard one for me! I always get caught up in planning  upcoming events for the week!)

I've noticed that when I keep myself prepared spiritually, my week goes a lot smoother & I feel more peaceful, even during times of stress.

This past week:
Bubs made me breakfast. I just put a poptart in the toaster & came out to find that he'd made me breakfast! Do you like his serving tray? Hehe.

 More conference calls! Yay!

...I was prepping the ValenSpine cards to give out at our party that I was throwing on Fiday. (Get it? ValenSpine? I work in a Chiropractic office! Ha)

I downloaded my fave movie on the planet. It took forever, but was so worth it.

I  saw this while I was out & about & had to send a pic of it to Ryan. Talk about perfect. (Upon receipt of my text he replied "It should say 'Garbage disposal like daddy!" This guy...)

The shirts I ordered from eShakti.com came in the mail!

Part of my wardrobe revamp is to find modest, comfortable clothes that flatter me & give me more of a shape. (My body type is more boyish) This cute peplum did just that!

This is the other one I ordered. Yay for peplums!

Bubs is so good at volunteering to help the missionaries. He did exchanges with them on Thursday & then made dinner for them on Friday. I love that he's always signing us up to do service.

Bubsie tweaked a family recipe for Sawmill Sandwiches & it turend out so good! These cute little missionaries had to tuck their ties into their shirts because our meal was that messy!

We had a super chill Valentines Day. We slept in & didn't get out of bed until after noon! It was wonderful.
We snacked for breakfast & headed to one of our new fave places, Parker's! If your ever in Roseville, we highly recommend you check it out! The only downside is that its super small inside, so you have to be quick to snatch up a table!

I like their chilidogs. Bubs & I always order a lot & share it all. 'Merica!

Random fact: I could not remove an entire napkin from the napkin dispenser to save my life. I kid you not.
...and then Bubs removed a whole bunch perfectly in tact in like two seconds flat. I was speechless. It was almost comical.
Then we headed to Fry's to pick out my gift.

I knew it ould be a long trip. (Fry's is to Bubs what Target is to me)

Bumblebee - Transformers - Jose Lopez
Am I right?

Bubs was loving this giant tower...until he thought about how heavy it would be to carry...(which is a real concern because he would have to transport it to & from the LAN parties...)

We had to look inside a few.

...and then there were like a billion motherboards...

...and then we looked at the network cables for  while.

...until we found one that was the right price & length.

...on to the main event! ...almost. This phone was so giant I had to take a picture, A 7+ inch screen?! How are you even supposed to fit that in your pocket?!
This is what we came for. He spent like an hour comparing price and "specs" of different laptops.

... I got bored & started to wander when I found these. Fun, right?

...after waiting forever/finally being able to flag down an employee, the purchase was made!

...then we looked at DVD drives that can plug into my laptop. He was in it to win it.

...then we found these. We had to get them. As soon as I got in the car, I had open them & test how bendy their arms & legs were/play with them. They were hardly bendy at all! (wah wah) I'm contemplating gluing their hands together so it looks like they're holding hands.

Because the weather was so amazing, we listened to Metallica loudly with the windows down. This is how we do.

My new Blogging Lappy! Yay for portable blogging fun!

Sunday was our last in the ward. It was bittersweet. The Primary presidency gave me some of my fave goodies & one of my former Nursery peeps made me that cute little page with the pics & names of each of my Nursery kiddos! It was very sweet. It was hard to leave though, becasue this was my favorite calling of all time & I don't think any calling I have in the future will come close. But it was so so fun to help these cute babes learn & grow in the gospel! I'm really going to miss them!

We went to Mother & Jeffrey's house for dinner. Mother was pleased to see that she looks pocket sized in this picture. I love these two...

Weekly Obsessions:

Tea before bed.
I've started drinking tea before bed. (It's herbal. I'm all about that Word of Wisdom!) It helps me unwind.

Reading...still.
This past week I've been heading to work a little early so I can read in my car. This particular day the weather was so lovely that I had to open my door & soak up the sun.

My new Blogging Machine/laptop!

Hehe. This happened like two minutes ago when I remembered I had a webcam.

Heroes.
I've been hooked on this show since Tuesday. Hiro is my super fave because he keeps thing silly & light. (which is really helpful because the show as a whole can be pretty intense & kinda creepy) I highly recommend it! (all 4 seasons are on Netflix!)

Thankful Thursday: prayer, hugs, opportunities to grow, safety, the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost, the drive to improve myself, music, my loving Heavenly Father & my Savior, Jesus Christ.

I hope ya'll are having a good week so far!

PS Saturday is our big move. Keep us in your prayers! (I always appreciate the extra blessings!)
