A Blogpost for Bubs.

He's the Oprah to my audience-member-that-wants-a-free-car. He's my Harry Potter. He's my Magic Mike. He's my the-Notebook-version of Ryan Gosling. He's my master chef and my weekend chauffeur. He makes me laugh and I love that! He's like my own personal source of entertainment. Sometimes we dance for no reason. Sometimes we bump some sick beats in the car and he dances. Sometimes we sing loudly. He volunteers his time to help others and do service. He even helped out in Nursery today! (Major hotness points for you, Bubsie!)

Sometimes I marvel at how lucky I am to have such an amazing husband. He always makes me laugh with his crazy antics. Often times he tucks me into bed. That's right. He tucks me in like a toddler and kisses my forehead. (See? What I mean about the Notebook-version of Ryan Gosling?) He is cute and funny and he dances better than I can which I am very jealous of.

*Cue the pics of Bubs*

Love you, Bubs!

I owe you an explanation...

...as to why I did not post this in time for Thankful Thursday this week. The honest truth is my day got away from me and I decided to go to bed instead of stay up and figure out this post. It was sheer laziness, but I'm glad I waited, because if I had written this that very night, it would have been not very fun to read because I was tired. So there you go.

(belated) Thankful Thursday: pillows, fresh sheets, cool autumn air, crisp mornings, drizzling rain, waking up without an alarm, Bubs, no-technology Thursday.

Weekend Recap:

On Friday, we went to clean the temple. I'm not really a fan of cleaning, but I actually enjoy cleaning the temple. Probably because 1) I get to feel the Spirit, 2) I get to wear pants in the temple without breaking the rules & 3) I'm scoring heaven points. Yay!
Bubs loves when I force him to take selfies.
Afterwards, we went grocery shooping at Winco. Bubs was seriously debating about whether or not to get Frankenberry/Booberry cereal. In the end, we passed it up because it costs too many pennies.

On Saturday morning, we woke up super early and got ready to head up to Camp Bountiful to close it up/get it ready for winter. Bubs made "egg toast" for breakfast. Which is apparently different than french toast. Ha.
...egg toast= bread soaked with egg and cooked, then smothered with cream cheese and jam and eaten like a sandwich. This guy...
Our drive was so scenic! I must have said "it's so pretty" like 12 times. Because it was.
...and then our GPS took us here...on this crazy dirt road next to a giant cliff. I may have freaked out (I was driving and could see down the cliff) and had Bubs drive. He managed to make a 50 point turn and get us back on the main road. Yay for husbands!

When we got there, I was the only female. And I rocked it. We painted oil on wood benches so they would not dry out and fall apart. Then I operated a woodchipper. Like a boss! Bubs was sneaky and took a picture of me! I love this guy!
My job was to push the button that made it run. So you could say that I was the brains behind it all. I pushed that button for like 2 hours. And let me tell you, it was not easy. I had to lean on my hand, so the button would be pushed in. I figured out that if the button was not pushed all the way in, the woodchipper would stop. Lame. Sometimes the safety would trigger and it would stop too, so I had to jerk the safety bar back into place. In case you were wondering, I nailed it (note the above pictures of awesomeness).

When we were done, we stopped by the in-laws' house and ate lunch. Dad-in-law made an amazing sub! He knows to pack on the meat, which is why we are food friends.
We rested at home for the remainder of the evening. It was magical. I made cookies. This might be the best cookie recipe ever. (The recipe is supposed to make 4 dozen, but when I made it, it yielded 3 dozen. I like my cookies big)
On Sunday, I went vintage. My hair turned out pretty good. I was/still am impressed with myself.

We went to Clinton & Camie's house for dinner. (Clinton is Bubs' best friend ever) We made Porkofrijoles (secret family recipe) and ate my delicious homemade cookies for dessert. Then we played catch phrase and somehow Bubs/Clinton won. That was some miracle. Ha.

Random:

This pic.
Taken (technically on our honeymoon) during our open house. Note how genuinely happy he looks. I think this is the only picture I have of him looking normal. Ha.

The sky.
Ignore the ridiculous glare and notice the sky! Talk about gorgeous and blue! The weather has been so weird and grey and foggy and sometimes blue and beautiful all in the same day. I'm still waiting for the fall weather to stick around for more than two hours...

I painted my nails.
...for the first time in too long! I forgot how much more I like my hands when my nails are painted.
Yea...that happened too... *Twinsies*

Ok. So you know how I mentioned "No Technology Thursdays" at the beginning of this post? Bubs & I decided that on Thursdays after we get home from work/school, we will disconnect from our phones. We started this tradition this week and it was super fun! We watched Charlie's Angels 2 via Netflix (which was super lame btw) and had a blast! We may or may not have spent the whole time making fun of the movie. Ha.

Weekly Obsessions:

This show.
It reminds me of my 100% real Southern heritage. (Alabama. You're welcome.)

This show too.
Did I tell you that season 2 arrived on Netflix?! Finally! I may have had a mini panic attack when I saw it was added. Ha. I love it. The drama!

Anyways, hope you're all having a good weekend thus far!

Sometimes I am a copycat.

I follow a few blogs and that's where I get some of my ideas from. The idea I'm liking right now is one I got from The Clueless Girl's Guide. (Her's is mostly a lifestyle blog that contains tips of how she makes raising her newest little boy a little easier, as well as fashion tidbits and her fun entrepreneurial endeavors.) Here goes!

CURRENTLY...

READING: The Vow & The Time Traveler's Wife. Taking a break for a little bit, as I'm a little bored of them both. The Vow was good initially, but I feel like (because it's based on a true story) it lacks details and skips around a bit. I like The Time Traveler's Wife, but I haven't picked it up in a long time, so I might have to reread the whole thing because I forgot a lot of what happened. Whoops...

WONDERING: what the next year will hold. Part of me wishes that I knew, but I think that also might take the fun out of it! Life is unpredictable and sometimes that's exciting!

FEELING THANKFUL: for Bubs and my job. And his internship that is heading the route of becoming a job. Woo!

EATING: Porkofrijoles (secret family recipe) and chocolate chip cookies (online recipe=not a secret)

WATCHING: Kid President videos on Youtube again. I love this kid! He always has something sweet and uplifting to say, plus his sassiness is unparallelled! He reminds me of a mini-Bill Cosby. Watch. You'll see.

WORKING ON: my Halloween costume. Decided to do a couples' costume for the first time ever! I copied the ides from another blogger. I told you I was a copycat...

LOVING: playing with other peoples' babies. I love that I can hand them back when they get super fussy. (That's how I know that I'm not ready to have one of my own. Ha.)

ATTEMPTING: To be more ballsy. (Sorry. I couldn't think of a nicer/less crude way of saying it) I've come a long way in the past few years, and I'm trying to be straight up with people and be clear about my intentions.

WANTING: A plum lipstick & lip liner! I keep seeing these pics all over Pinterest of makeup looks with a dark lip & I'm in love! I am brave enough to try it, but I'm concerned about finding something that involves only the smallest amount of maintenance & touch ups so I can wear it at work & not have to worry about smearing or feathering!

What are you up to today? Learning more parenting tidbits in Nursery. I love these kiddos. They melt my heart.

Whew! That was a lot of thinking! I think I might do one of these every once in a while. I like that these categories cover all bases. Hope ya'll are having a good evening!

Opportunities.

Thankful Thursday: opportunities to serve, the Atonement, knowledge of the Plan of Salvation, pillows, cool weather.

I've noticed that I have many opportunities to serve in my life currently. I have a ward calling. I have a wonderful husband. I work in a service industry. And this weekend, Bubs and I will be serving a lot. I'm hoping that through this service, I will forget about myself and enjoy these opportunities to serve others. I am thankful for daily (if not hourly) opportunities to serve others.

Happy Pre-Friday! Hope you all are having a good night!

Under construction.

Remember how I said that I am constantly reinventing myself? I am back under construction once again. I have decided that I am not going to let my fears get in the way of my life. I like being gung ho and take charge. I'm more type A than a lot of people I know, and I like it. I like getting things done. I like to do things by myself because I can get things done as quickly and thoroughly. So that's what I'm working on more this week. Being more thorough and efficient. Yay!

Weekend Recap:
On Friday, we didn't do a whole lot of anything. We mostly hung out at home and relaxed. It was much needed R&R.

Saturday.
I convinced Bubs that we needed to go out on a date. An Actual date. (We haven't done that in a while) Anyways, we hit up our fave Mexican place, La Fiesta Taqueria!
Notice all of the awards? They are that good!
(The SF Giants were playing)
He loves when I take pictures of him when he's eating.
They even put rice in their salt! See? I told you these peeps know what's up!
We redboxed Blended (the movie). It was mediocre, but we still had fun.
 (Creepy, right?)

Sunday.
My Mother is ready for Halloween! She has the cutest decorations!
Awkward selfie. Ha.
This girl is Baby Jinx. She's actually an old lady-dog. She looks more grey/older than she is because she likes to roll in the dirt. And she looks like a creep in this picture because if you don't give her the right amount of attention, she rolls all over like a weirdo.
Aww. I love her.
Yummy dinner! This is Bubs' plate because as previously mentioned, his plate always looks better than mine. Even when we eat the exact same thing.
Big Boy took my phone hostage. I had 25+ of these bad boys.

Little Miss made this cute skeleton back in elementary school.
As we were leaving, she pointed out that she modified it. I feel that the twerking Miley Cyrus version is quite accurate. Ha. (And people wonder where she gets it from...)

Weekly Obsessions:
Arrow.
Season 2 is finallly on Netflix! Huzzah!I'm hoping by some miracle that I will be able to binge-watch until I am caught up with the current season on Hulu. (Not likely)

Running.
I used to run all the time. I used to run 4+ days/week and moniter what I ate and counted calories and been a good girl. But then I got lazy. And then...I stopped tracking what I ate...which led to me eating sweets a lot...Anyways, it's a vicious cycle. But now I'm running again (2 for 2! Woot!) and hopefully I will stick it out again.

Hope you're all having a good almost-Hump Day! Goodnight!
