A Very Merry Un-Birthday

I am getting so antsy to meet our little guy! The other night, I was getting kind of excited because I was having cramps, and I was convinced that they were going to turn into contractions...which meant I was going to have Adam soon! ...but sadly, no contractions. I was so bummed! I spent the whole next day sulking around the house and cuddling with Ryan. He was such a good sport. I must admit, I am getting pretty impatient for Adam to get here already! Ha. (You hear that, little guy? You need to come out already!)

I took this pic yesterday, which was Adam's due date- March 9, 2016!

(I kept telling him that he needed to make an appearance for it to officially be his birthday! Ha.)

Pregnancy Updates:

How far in: 40 WEEKS!

Baby is the size of a/an: Small pumpkin. How cute!

Feeling: Big. I can tell that he's dropped a bit, and I feel like he's getting close to taking up every square inch in utero! I have a feeling that he's going to be pretty big!

Weight Gain: Close to 5 pounds within the last 10 days!

Wearing:
Makeup daily! It really perks me up!

Sleep: Still getting as much as possible. Loving every second!

Missing: Being able to put on my shoes with little to no effort, rolling over easier. Ha.

Last doctor's appointment: Yesterday. I had my membranes stripped, which *fingers crossed* will help Baby get here quicker!

Next doctor's appointment: None scheduled. I have an induction scheduled for March 16th if Adam doesn't arrive sooner, but my OBGYN is confident that he will arrive sooner than that-within the next few days even! I have been walking daily, bouncing on my birthing ball, and am trying to stay active!

Movement: A lot! Although it feels like he still spends most of the time asleep, when he's awake, it feels like he's a little karate master! All kicks and punches!

Food cravings: Grits & eggs.

Looking forward to: Meeting our baby!!!

Missionary Updates:

"Howdy!

First of all thank you so much for all the birthday wishes!

There has not been too much going on this week. We are continuing to
work with Tedra and helping her progress toward baptism, but I suspect that she will not be prepared in time. Your prayers are appreciated.

We had a fair this last Saturday and the church had a booth. My companion and I were there wearing our shirts and tags and helping out with the booth. There was this burger place right across the street that had a challenge burger called a double magnum (picture attached) it had 4 half pound patties and a half pound of condiments. I tried to go ahead and down it. On my last bite I lost everything in my stomach. That was the first time I have ever eaten so much food that it made me sick! That's really the most exciting part of this week!

The spiritual thought I wanted to leave this week was actually a talk from the October 2007 General Conference By Elder Jeffrey R Holland:

We believe in a living Christ and we sustain that we are indeed
Christians in the same church that Jesus Christ established on the
Earth.

Much love,

Elder Arciniaga"

...and here is the much anticipated picture of that beastly burger. Poor guy...

Recap:

  • We went to Farrell's to celebrate Mother acing her last test! It was a blast. Bonus: it was Ryan's first time going and we (mostly Ryan) ate a Pig Trough and we won blue ribbons!
  • Mother & I went shopping and got pedicures. It was lovely!
This is the color I picked. Love!
  • My MIL, Melanie, invited me over to watch "Becoming Jane" on Netflix. We had so much fun!

Weekly Obsessions:

  • I've been on a Jane Austen kick. Lately, I've watched Pride & Prejudice (the Kiera Knightley one...not as good as the 6 hour BBC one, but still very sweet), Becoming Jane, and am now watching Mansfield Park. I just adore the characters she has created, in all their depth, and with all their flaws! Plus, I love the shenanigans that the main characters are always in, and the irony just cracks me up!
  • Now I'm stuck on Heroes again. Hiro is my absolute fave! He's so loyal and has a really strong moral compass, plus he is so dorky! I love him.
  • Nesting & organizing. I've been spending a bunch of time organizing Adam's toys/clothes/other essentials and putting them in his closet. (I'm waiting for his crib to arrive this week, before I start decorating his room. Once I have it, it'll be "go time!") I did put together his cradle (which is gorgeous BTW!)
Fun fact: Ryan's coworker gifted us this cradle (I guess he and his wife had like three cradles, so they gave us this one- brand new, the box hadn't even been opened yet)...
I am so in love with it!

  • Witch Hazel. Last week I got a ton of mosquito bites, and was miserable! I didn't want to use an ointment, because many of the anti-itch cremes have steroids in them. But then I remembered that I had a bottle of witch hazel! Since applying it 1-2 times daily, my mosquito bites are almost gone! (Talk about a lifesaver) Plus it's worked wonders for my skin since I started using it as a facial toner!
  • Coupon-ing at Target. I am obsessed! I started using this coupon site, coupons.com , and I love it! (All you have to do is sign up, then select the coupons you want and then print them! The nice thing is that they're mostly manufacturers coupons, so they can be used anywhere!) In addition to using these printable coupons, I use my Cartwheel app for additional discounts and also buy mostly items on sale= triple savings! $$$
  • Grits & Eggs. I've been eating this for breakfast as of late. It brings me back to my roots, plus it "sticks to my ribs!" Win/win!
