Living the high life.

Hey, everyone! Since I didn't get a chance to blog yesterday, I need to update you on all the fun I had!

So yesterday I woke up earlier than I would have liked because I wanted to snag breakfast and snag a good seat for day 2 of my work conference. I grabbed a yogurt/granola/fruit cup from Starbucks in th lobby and ate in the cafe seating area. This was the view from my table. That giant palm tree is real! I think they must have horticulture magicians taking care of this beast.
The ceiling was so high up!

The conference was great! I learned all sorts of cool stuff that I'm excited to start doing in our office! I had lunch in the cafe area in the lobby with these lovely ladies! It was so fun! Dr. Lavonne is on my left, my boss that brought me (Beth) is on my immediate right, and Dr. Lavonne's partner, Sonia is on the far right. It was great to catch up!

I tried to catch up on General Conference after the work training was officially over, but my internet connection was not so great. So I only got to the opening hymn before the first speaker, but I felt the Spirit so strong! I love the MoTab choir. They sound like angels!
My cousin, Nolan picked me up at my hotel (post check-out) and we headed out to Huntington Beach (aka my happy place). I was glad that we had a bit of driving ahead of us because it gave us time to catch up! We met up with my other cousin, Matt and walked across the street to the beach to meet up with Matt's wife, Chantel. We hung out for a little bit in the sand and surf, but because the tide kept rising, we decided to head somewhere else. We were all hungry, so they recommended Bruxie's.
I had never been before-so Matt recommended the daily special which we each got. It was a Pulled Pork Waffle. And it was amazing. It was suprisingly not messy at all despite eating it with my hands. We hung out and chatted for like an hour after finishing our food. It was so fun! I had a blast catching up and reminiscing with the boys and getting to know Chantel. Can I just say that I love how close-knit and loving my family is? Even though we haven't seen eachother in 1.5+ years, we meet up and it feels like nothing has changed. I love them.
I insisted on a selfie because I am a blogger and I need to take pictures of everything. Thankfully, everyone humored me.
After Bruxie's, we parted ways with Matt & Chantel and Nolan & I started the hour trek to my dad's house. Again, we didn't mind the lengthy drive. We had a blast chatting. It was hard to say goodbye to Nolan. I love that guy. After he left, Dad, Shauna, Teenie Weenie Hut & I went to Donut Man because 1) it's tradition and 2) they make fresh donuts around the clock. Seriously. You can show up at any given time and there will be 15+ people in line. I love our evening Donut Man trips.
We told Teenie Weenie Hut that he should work here when he is of age.
It's all windows in the front, so you can watch the donuts being made & glazed/decorated! It's super cool to watch. This guy was not amused that we were taking pictures.
This was near the ordering window. We couldn't figure out why there were so many more lids than buckets. You'd think there would be a demand for both...
Teenie Weenie Hut was trying to hide behind so as to not be in the picture. I felt that he should be in it, hence my awkward leaning forward.
Dad ordered a tigertail (one of their signature donuts) with a maple glaze. He was all excited that he had invented a new donut that he called "The Al".
He also introduced me to Bite This with Nadia G. (She was on the show Bitchin' Kitchen)  It's this super odd cooking show where the hostess, Nadia G, travels all over the country visiting restaurants and trying their food. The way she goes about it though is super weird and funny. She says such awkward and brash things and I think she's pretty funny.
I watched General Conference this morning and upon hearing President Eyring's talk I made a joke and turned it into this meme. That's right. I'm hilarious.
We made pizza. It was delicious.
Dad insisted on taking pictures of me while blogging. I normally love pictures, but with no makeup and needing a shower, I was not so keen on it. But here you go. This is what I look like when I blog. (Although I usually shower, don't worry.)

Lifetime Obsessions:
(in no particular order)
This place.
This is my happy place for a lot of reasons. One of the more recent ones being that Bub's proposed to me here. It will always hold a place in my heart.

This guy.
His hair is reminiscent of Elvis, don't you think? I love him. And I always will.
As I sit here in the airport, I feel kind of sad. I am excited to head home and see Bubs, but I also long to stay.  I'm already trying to plan my next trip. Ha. This is my home and always will be.
