We're into week two (three?) of school for Bubs. He's gone until 9pm+ at night and it's weird for me to be back to spending most of the weekdays alone. I guess I can't really complain though because I still get to see him every night. I am so clingy and miss him so much during the day! Thankfully, I have work to keep me busy most of the day, so I only have to entertain myself for two or three hours before he gets home. #FirstWorldProblems...
Time for the Weekend Recap!
Bubs has been wanting to go to Aftershock for a while (two-day concert), but we couldn't spare the pennies, ($60/day! Ouch!) so he got off work early on Friday to stand in line and win some tickets from 98 Rock! He got there like an hour and a half before the radio station started giving away tickets, only to find out that it wasn't a be-the-first-to-wait-in-line-and-get-free-tickets event, but a raffle. Wah wah! So he called me up and told me to come over and put my name in the raffle, to up his chances of winning. So I did. And then we hung out with like 1,000 other ghetto people. (Seriously. The guy from the radio station said that over 1,000 people showed up. Crazy!)
When I got there, I put my name in the raffle and we waited. Bubs had been there for two+ hours by the time I got there. We sat on the sidewalk in the shade and I read my book. (Guess which one? Yep. I'm still not done with last week's obsession) They called two people that shared Bubs' first name, which only made him more upset. He was the 10th person there, and so far 23 other people had won tickets. Talk about frustrating. Then the guy pulling the tickets said a name that sounded like mine, only he pronounced it slightly different and Bubs pulled me away from my book to tell me that I had won. I won! How cool is that? I got two 2-day VIP tickets to Aftershock! I felt bad for Bubs because he was really invested, so I felt like they should have called his name and not mine, but he didn't seem to mind much. He knew the tickets were for him. (He's going this upcoming weekend with his friends. Stay tuned for more about that!)
On Saturday, we went to the Temple for the first time in too long. It was nice. And that night we went to hang out with some friends! I make a point to always take pictures when we're driving. Don't you love his face? I know I do.
We made the best chocolate cake to share for dessert!
We played games! This was only my second time playing, but I did pretty well.
I was the white player. (Ha)
On Sunday, we had dinner with Bubs' other family.
They always make a ton of yummy food. I fried the coconut shrimp all by myself! (which is a big deal because I'm always terrified of getting burned so I never fry things.)
We celebrated Cowgirl's birthday with a German Chocolate cake.
And Bestie's birthday with a Keylime pie.
We were afraid BabyGirl was going to get a face full of cake.
It was so good!
Time for my Weekly Obsessions!
Oreos.
I never buy delicious sugary things because I tend to eat them everyday until they're gone. I bought these with the intention of using them in an Oreo cheesecake, but decided to make chocolate cake instead. Whoops Yum!
My 'N Sync pandora station.
Proof that I am indeed a 90's kid.
This show...still.
"We can't stop...and we won't stop..."
Can I just say that I feel so accomplished for getting this whole post written before Thursday at 9pm? Here's to a productive week!
