The Family Is of God.

I've been making a point to listen to conference talks often on my commute to work. I've noticed that it really starts my day off right. It causes me to feel happier and be more in tune with the Spirit- win/win! I've really been enjoying the recent Women's Conference (via the LDS Library app) and the wonderful words spoken there. My favorite talk of all time is "The Family is of God" by Carole M. Stephens (1st Counselor in the RS General Presidency). My fave things about this talk:

  • It's built around the primary song "The Family is of God"
  • It affirms the importance of having families, along with the importance of empathizing with others and bearing their burdens
  • It states that our sphere in influence isn't limited to our own family members- we should be Mothers to everyone!
  • It acknowledges that "when we strengthen the faith of a child, we contribute to the strength of a family, now and in the future."

If you haven't heard this talk yet, download the app and listen to it! Sister Stephens' words (coupled with the impressions of the Spirit) are so fantastic! (Well, done, Sister Stephens!)

What was your favorite talk from this past General Conference?
