Money Saving Monday:
(title still a work in progress...)
I found this super cute necklace at Target last week. Can I just say that I love it? I have been looking for a faux-pearl statement necklace since I saw one of Pinterest a few months ago. It was love. But I could never find it for the right price until I stumbled upon this! It was originally priced at $17, but was on sale for $9 plus I used my Cartwheel app to get it for a grand total of $7! Woo!
I found these blush Mossimo ballet flats about 3 weeks ago at Target in the clearance section. I'd also been on the hunt for a pair of nude flats, so when I saw these blush ones in my size I had to have them! These were originally priced at $17, but they were on sale & I had a Cartwheel so they were only $7! I was so happy!
...but a few days after I bought them I decided to wear them - I ended up
wearing them to run a ton of errands. I was so sad to discover that they were so
uncomfotable! (which bummed me out because I had tried them on in the store!) They rubbed up against my heel & my feet hurt so bad by the end of the day! I decided to go out on a limb & try these gel shoe cushions that I always see in stores. I was a skeptic, but willing to try them because I so wanted these shoes to work out!
I bought this pair of gel shoe cushions at Walmart (they were half the price of the ones at Target!). They have a sticker backing that I stuck to the inside of each shoe. I applied them as close to the edge as I could without them being seen. They worked! My shoes are so much more comfy now! ...I am a happy girl!
I got these Mossimo boots from Target about 3 weeks back. They were originally $40 but because they were on sale & I used my Cartwheel app, (surprise) they were only $16! Score! My favorite part about them is the distressed toe. (I always end up scratching/scuffing the toes of my shoes, so this made me very happy that if they get scuffed you won't be able to tell! Woo!)
If you were wondering where I learned all this fabo deal hunting from: my bestest friend Brittany taught me! She is amazing when it comes to saving money on things (especially clothes/accessories) & has been giving me a crash course in bargain shopping!
Here are some great tips I've learned:
- Only shop in the clearance section! This was a hard one for me because I have to really keep myself in check because I love to shop but Bubs & I don't have a lot of extra money to spend. The way I curb my habit is by only shopping in the clearance section. I've gotten really good at letting things go if I don't love them. I often ask myself 'would I buy this if it was full price?' If the answer if no, then I move on to the next item.
- Use coupon apps & check them often for deals! I love using Cartwheel (for Target) & recently fell in love with Groupon.
- If a store is having a sale, check it out! This was another hard one for me (see first bullet point). I use to have a real tendency to buy things on a whim & that added up really quick. Shopping the sales is a great way to still be able to buy cute things I've been wanting, but not feel guilty about the price tag!
