So my parents have been remodeling their house (it's a fixer-upper) and they're currently working on the backyard. They got this super cool firepit which has clear glass instead of wood! How awesome is that? Naturally, we had to test it out as soon as it was dark enough. It was fun! We were hanging out and listening to my Beatles playlist (which I renamed after Mr. CHiPy since he loved every song it played) and chatting.
(I never go anywhere without my sippy cup)
Thankfully I brought Bubs' sweatshirt with me (to hem some ripped seams) and it kept me nice and warm. The stars were so beautiful!Weekend Recap:
I helped out at a wedding open house! The bride is a friend of my friend, Brittany, who recruited me to help. I helped mostly with setting up decor- which was right up my ally! It turned out so cute!
There was an array of cakes in a whole bunch of yummy flavors! I met Sabrina (a friend of the bride and groom) who made this delicious cake! I was super intrigued, so she showed me how she used pieces of plastic straws to hold the layers together (instead of the standard mini-dowel/skewers). Life hack!
They had a Mexican restaurant cater, so I was in heaven! I was watching everyone serve themselves and they only took little portions! I feel like a total pig easting all of this-but no one seemed to notice (thank goodness!)
I was so glad I picked the outfit I did- a chambray over a sleeveless mint hi-low dress-because I was running all over the place! It was a lot warmer than I expected (maybe because of all the running) so I was glad that my dress was breezy and cool.
This has been my go-to hairstyle for the past few weeks. I always wear my hair up because I'm always doing a million things-and this simple braid is so effortless, but looks so elegant! I'm in love.
Random:
So I tried this simple snack- pear halves with mayo and cheese. It was a childhood staple for me. I think my mom introduced me to this, but I'm not 100% sure. I used to love it. But this time I did not because I put WAY too much mayo-yuck. But I ate it anyway because I can do hard things. Ha.
I'm waiting to board my flight to Orange County for a work training/funtime with my fam! I am counting down the seconds until I get there!
I watched the Women's Broadcast via the internet and it was awesome! This was my favorite quote.
Hope you're all having a good week!
