This past week, I did a lot of things.
Thanks to Youtube, I felt confident enough to try out some new hairstyles. This is hairstyle #1: The Reminiscient 1960's Bun. (Hairstyle #2 is later...)
While leaving work the other day, I noticed how fantastic the weather was. I'm trying to pause and notice the hand of God in little things. Like this perfect day.
Adrian & I decorated the office Christmas tree. (Adrian is the amazing person that got me this job!) This is our 3rd year decorating the tree together & since Bubs & I don't have a tree, (we chose to wait until we can afford a nice fake tree) this gets me my tree-decorating fix. Plus its a nice way to get in the Christmas spirit.
This past Friday, mom-in-law & I had a girls date at the Temple, while Bubs & his dad went to the Kings game. It was so nice to go together! It reminded me that we don't spend nearly enough time together. She's pretty great!
Afterwards, we went to my fave Mexican place, La Fiesta! I texted this pic to Bubs. He was pretty jealous.
On Saturday, we went to a wedding reception for two of my friends! It was the cutest!
"Smile, Bubs!"
They are the cutest!
Did I mention that my bestest friend ever, Heidi, was in town for this wedding too?! It's her third trip back to Sac for a wedding this year alone! It was so fun to have her back! We went to the Palladio & messed around.
She's turned into the poster child for H&M.
Note the hair. I tend to latch onto only one hairstyle per week. Ha.
On Sunday, we went to church & I took a fat nap when we got home. When I woke up, Bubs had a whole dinner assembled! I love this guy! He even made deviled eggs. We took our dinner to Mother's house to share with my fam. It was amazing to see the changes that came with the renovations!
This chandelier...want!
Fancy new kitchen, with beautiful floors that believe it or not are not real wood! They look fantastic though!
The next time I go over there, there should be a new see-through fireplace in that hole in the wall.
I like that their freezer is underneath the fridge & has sliding racks & drawers!
I helped Mr. CHiPy by handing him zipties so he could secure the star on top. He loves zipties.
"Turn around so I can see how long your hair is!"
I love this girl. She's super silly & likes to rub in my face how flexible she is. (I, on the other hand, am as flexible as a brick)
We watched Elf. It's standard Christmas procedure with my fam. That and A Christmas Story.
I tired to do her hair like mine, but it didn't work out as well as we had hoped due to the extra 12+ inches of length she has on me.
We then watched Star Trek: Into Darkness. Bubs was loving every second of it.
I love this guy too. He loves taking selfies.
(In case you were wondering, Bubs gifted me this apron for our first Christmas as an engaged couple. I forgot I had it until right before I took these pics! Yay for superhero love!)
After we got home, I made a Lemon Meringue Pie. My first ever! I was so proud of myself.
Earlier this week, Bubs texted me this pic of his desk at work. His Hulk hands are holding up his monitor. I love him.
We started running this week.
Weekly Obsessions:
Hairstyle #2.
Over the course of these two new hairstyles, I've learned that bobby pins are my friend.
Plus the waves are nice too.
I am loving dry shampoo. Hello, volume!
Things that I am trying to get better at: noticing Heavenly Father's hand in all things, taking deep breaths, saying thank you, being more sincere with my prayers, giving Bubs space to game, spending time alone, letting go (*sings* let it goooo, let it goooooooo...)
Thankful Thursday: nature, the rain, our home, our families, my car, Bubs, our jobs, having a loving Heavenly Father who is always here for me.
Happy pre-Friday, everyone! Do you have any fun plans this weekend?
